Cooper Tire Reviews
After buying our first set of these tires less than a year ago, we had to replace the front two because the tread had worn down after only putting about 5000 miles on it. After having the two replacement ones put on in March, we now had to get rid of all four of them because they same thing was happening after around 5000 miles again! The retailer we purchased our tires from tried to contact Cooper to help us get a refund and they were unwilling to refund us for the money spent on these tires. Will not be purchasing Cooper Tires ever again. Extremely disappointed in their customer service.
I only drive my car during the summer and had driven well below the estimated miles when the wear bars were showing. I had researched prior to my purchase and have always been very satisfied with Cooper Tires on other vehicles.
This set of 4, 275-35R20 RS3-S tires came from the factory on my new car. I had never owned a set of Cooper tires before, but I am a big fan now. Tires are well constructed and can take some punishment. As to traction and handling I am extremely happy. The car handles fantastic. Tires bite the road and sticks well. Been on wet roads a few times. I did not notice a change in the handling. I am not a track guy, but for a winding mountain road these things are awesome. I would not recommend these be used when the weather turns cold. They can get a little slick when the temps stay under 45/40 degrees F. I have bought more and will continue to buy these as long as they keep making them. I love these tires. My original tires have about 14k miles on them. Tread measures about half worn. Great price and very good performance. I am sure I could spend more and get a higher end tire, but I do not see how it could perform better for my use. This is a great tire and has served me very well. You will be lucky to find any performance summer tire that wears better than these do. THIS IS A GREAT TIRE! Go buy a set!
like them better than the Michelin run flats. Good traction wet/dry. They will wear faster. even faster with 400+ hp and a heavy foot. 20.000 or less but it will a fun 20k. Price is good enough that you can afford to play a little. Ride comfort? Its a vette not a caddy.
I bought these after lots of research and comparing. I first looked at a more expensive tire, widely considered best in its class, but the sticker shock led me away. I settled on the Cooper RS3-S after comparing with a few other brands and couldn't be happier. I don't track my car (2014 Mustang GT), but I do a lot of "spirited driving" if you catch my drift. It's easy to spin any tire with 400+ horsepower, but these are very predictable and recover easily. Dry or wet, this tire handles as expected. I have a separate set of winter tires, so I can't speak to the performance of these in the snow. They're a summer tire, though, so I wouldn't even consider it. So far treadwear seems good but UHP tires always trade longevity for performance. Overall, I'd say for the price, this is the best UHP summer tire you can buy. There may be slightly better tires, but to me they are not worth the additional premium.
I have these on my 2004 Corvette convertible. Dry & wet traction is superb. Coming home one day I drove into a torrential rain. Driving winds. I was on the freeway. Everyone was slowing way down & turning on their hazards. I was able to maintain a safe speed, much faster than everyone else, & felt the car was holding the road exceptionally well for so much water on the road. Only reason I didn't rate a 5, "road noise". Yep, these are a bit noisy. But hey, I'm in a convertible, mostly with the top down & radio on! I only drive 2 to 3K miles per year.
I have about 3,000 miles on a new set of these tires on my AWD Lincoln MKZ. Many of these miles have been in lousy, Northern Minnesota winter driving conditions...ice & snow. These are hands-down the best winter tire I have ever had on my vehicle. These tires provide great traction, handling & stopping on icy snow-covered roads. They are quiet & sure-footed on dry road surfaces as well. I'm very happy the performance of these tires.
I read all the review and watch the tirerack video reviews before buying at Pep-boys as they were the only place I could find them. I bought them in 2012 when I had 30k mile on my 2011 mustang. great dry weather traction, really good wet weather traction. my car did not slide around corners and no more tire spinning in second and 3rd gears like with the BF that came on the car. Now I have 120k miles on the car and 90K miles on the tires. the front still have some life left in the but the rears are done. I can NOT fine anyone that sells these tire. everyone says they are discontinued. When I bought them, they were offering a 40k warranty and I got 90k out of them and want another set. not looks like they lowered the warranty and possibly changed the rubber compound as some here as saying low ware life.
After only 22,500 miles I had to replace all 4 tires. They were down to 4/32 of tread. I have owned Cooper's for years and still have them on other vehicles. But these were a disappointment.
These are some great tires for my mustang, they handled pretty well during auto crossing with the SCCA in Milwaukee. When they get hot/warm up hey grip pretty like the high end tires. It gets hard to break the end loose depending which surfaces your on. Otherwise it's been nice set of tires. Though I've got a half a season left to run out on them. They are noisy for everyday driving compared to other tires like the stock perilli tires. But when your using high performance tire you give up quiet driving vs pure handling. Goo
And many more!
